Artist SILVIO IRILLI's work dedicated to the children of Visso (MC) delivered
On the fifth anniversary of the earthquake that struck the Macerata Apennines, artist SILVIO IRILLI unveils the work of art he wanted to donate to the I Pulcini di Visso nursery school. A tribute in the sign of colour and hope, which also received special praise from the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella.
"Certain that I represent the feelings not only of the Municipal Administration but also of all the citizens of Vieste, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks for the high level of professionalism and humanity shown by Silvio Irilli in the execution of the wonderful paintings in the municipal nursery school. Gestures such as his demonstrate a sincere attachment to our territories and take on even greater value on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the terrible earthquake that struck our community in 2016. In renewing our sincere gratitude and appreciation, we hope that the relationship established will continue over time and that our paths will cross again in the future".

"On 26 October five years ago, our lives were shattered, overwhelmed. Everything happened in a few seconds, nothing was the same as before, destruction appeared everywhere and despair made us sink. But a glimmer appears: I write to Silvio Irilli to ask that at least colour and joy can bring life back to the walls and hearts of the children at the 'I pulcini' Infant-toddler Centre in Visso where I work. The written words go to the artist Silvio Irilli, who answered our call and today gave us this incredible work of art that stands out on the walls of the nursery school, a fairy tale that has enchanted young and old alike and which will certainly help us in our activities. We would like to thank Silvio because, with sensitivity and professionalism, he made an impossible dream come true for us. His gift will remain forever as an indelible sign in our hearts".

"During the four days I worked at the Visso nursery school, I got to know the stories of people who have been living in a very difficult post-earthquake situation for five years and where the pandemic has only accentuated the already existing hardships. Entering the red zone and seeing time stand still on 26 October 2016 saddened me greatly, but at the same time gave me the drive to create a work capable of restoring hope to the children of Visso. I would like to thank the Associazione Nati per Lottare Onlus for their precious contribution and Noi Geninetti for the donation of decorations that have embellished the work. I will always carry this experience in my heart and I hope that this work can really be a message of colour and hope for the future of this area, allowing the children of the I Pulcini crèche to enter a fairytale every day and imagine a happy world together with Loredana dell'Orso and the other teachers".
