BEFORE and AFTER

INAUGURATION - STATEMENTS

"We are Claudia and Michele, parents of Emma who passed away in 2018 at the age of 4 and a half due to a particularly aggressive leukaemia. Emmaland was founded in 2019 by us and her closest relatives with the aim of spreading the strength, tenacity and all the teachings that our daughter gave us during her illness. We raise funds to be donated to organisations that help families facing the difficult road to recovery from oncohaematological diseases. The spirit of our initiatives has always been driven by the joy of life, the beauty of sharing, and everything that can bring a smile to the face. After meeting Painted Hospitals our goals took on a new shape. We have experienced first-hand how much a hospital environment that conveys positive feelings and makes patients feel at home can affect the mood of children and parents. We are sure that this will be just the first in a series of wonderful projects, starting with the paediatric emergency department of the SS Trinità hospital in Borgomanero, the place that welcomed Emma at the beginning of her journey. The art of Painted Hospitals and the graphics of Emmaland will come together in a wonderful and colourful garden that will tell a story full of love, courage and hope. »

The Emmaland Association

Emmaland is a charitable ETS (Ente Terzo Settore, better known as an association), created to raise funds to improve the lives of children (and parents) who have to face the difficult path of recovery from oncohaematological diseases.

Emma left as a gift love, a desire to party, joy, courage and determination.
Emmaland is the union of all these values that they manifest at every event.
Collect with a smile.

Eliminating immunosuppressive diseases will not be possible, making the healing process easier to cope with will be!

"For a child, entering a hospital, and especially an emergency room, is a traumatic and stressful event, especially if it takes place in the cold and antiseptic environment typical of most hospital settings, which are incapable of capturing the child's attention and stimulating their imagination. Therefore, by decorating the environment, creating a child-friendly place of care that can divert the child's attention, with images and emotions, from what is happening around him, not only reduces the child's feeling of fear, but also helps to reduce the parents' anxiety, allowing health workers to act more calmly. It is with this in mind that the Emmaland Charity Association has decided to launch the "Il Giardino di Emma" project in collaboration with Silvio Irilli, a well-known artist in Italy and around the world and founder of Painted Hospitals. The project involves painting all the walls and part of the ceiling of the paediatric emergency room, giving children the feeling that they are not in a hospital but immersed in an enchanted garden capable of alleviating discomfort and pain by capturing their attention through reassuring colours and images. The humanisation of the diagnostic-assistance pathway has always been at the heart of the mission of the s.c. Pediatria-Neonatologia. This is why we are delighted to support the proposal of the Emmaland Association in memory of little Emma who, like a brief meteorite, passed through our ward, leaving an indelible memory of her smile in all the staff who knew her. I sincerely thank the Association, Emma's parents and all those who, thanks to their generosity, will make this project possible. "

THE DONATION CERTIFICATE TO THANK YOU

We will send you by email the Donation Certificate in size 20×30 cm, with your name and surname that you can print and frame as a souvenir for your contribution to a special project.

"When I meet people like Claudia and Michele, I realise that death as a whole does not exist. You can live through a tragedy like the loss of your 4-year-old daughter and fall into depression, or you can think that there is another life. For Emma's parents it was to found the Emmaland association trying to bring life with Emma's message to be close to other children and families. A very touching and exciting fundraising campaign starts today. I am convinced that many of you will want to support Claudia and Michele with a DONATION. I am sure that we will form a great team that will take us to the finish line, your signature will be the most important and will allow us to paint "Emma's Garden" for the Borgomanero emergency room. It will be a nice Christmas present for the ward, with a setting where the characters will encourage the little patients and every time we manage to make a child smile, that smile will also include Emma's smile".
